Prove that the idea is mine

"I designed an original line of clothes. In order to have proof of the date on which my designs were created I decided to submit an i-DEPOT. A short while later I discovered that my creations were being copied by a competitor. I immediately took legal steps and thanks to my i-DEPOT, I was able to prove very easily that I was the one who had devised the collection."

Submitting an i-DEPOT

Online submission

You can submit your i-DEPOT online. The submission procedure includes several steps, and you will also be asked to enclose a description of your idea. You will receive a confirmation by e-mail once we have processed your payment. You can then download your i-DEPOT certificate.

i-DEPOT envelope

Alternatively, you can submit your i-DEPOT using the i-DEPOT envelope. The envelope will be sent to you once we have received your completed application form (pdf in Dutch or French) and your payment.

The i-DEPOT envelope contains two compartments. In each compartment you should place an identical document that describes or depicts your idea as clearly as possible. Then stick down the envelope and send it back to the BOIP. At the BOIP your envelope will be sealed upon receipt. The one compartment will be returned to you. The other will not be opened, but filed in our archive.
